FAQ

Answering Your Lakeland, Orlando, & Polk County Irrigation Questions for Over 25 Years

  • What time should I water my yard?

Answer: Early morning, just before sunrise, is best. Set your timer so that your water cycle is over around 7:00 AM. We would be happy to set this up for you - just call us!

  • Why does my sprinkler system run when it is raining?

Answer: Although rain sensors are the law in Florida, many systems either don't have one installed or don't receive the necessary maintenance to ensure the device is working properly. Sensors have 5-10 years of life and should be checked regularly. If your system doesn't have a sensor, get in touch with our team of professionals, and we can offer pricing and regular maintenance.

  • Why won't my system shut off, or why does it run for much longer than I have it programmed for?

    Answers:

Human error - Many clients get confused by the Start Time functionality and accidentally program multiple start times, which forces the system to continually restart its program.

Failed valve(s) - A zone valve may be worn out or have debris caught in it, allowing water to continually run through it. We recommend that you flush the valve or replace it to ensure proper functionality. It may be beneficial to consider installing a master valve on the system, which will save you a lot of water and headaches when a valve fails.
